Chandigarh Administration has invited online forms for the posts of Clerk and Steno today is the last date to check the eligibility details.

Chandigarh Administration has announced the recruitment of 257 posts including Clerk and Stenotypist under Group C Ministerial Cadre. The notification issued on 1st April 2026 outlines the regular appointments under the Chandigarh Administration (Clerk and Stenotypist) Recruitment Rules, 2026.Online applications opened on 6th April 2026 and last date for submission of form is today 26th April 2026. Candidates willing to apply must complete the process through the official recruitment portal before the last date. Last date for fee submission is 29 April 2026.Vacancy Details and Eligibility CriteriaThe recruitment drive includes 234 posts of clerk and 23 posts of stenotypist. Applicants must have a graduate degree from a recognized university. English typing speed of 35 words per minute is required for clerk positions, while shorthand speed of 80 words per minute is required for Steno-Typist applicants.The age limit is fixed between 18 and 27 years, with 26 April 2026 as the cut-off date. Upper age relaxation will be given as per applicable rules. Candidates should also possess 80 Hours Computer Course (CCC) Certificate at the time of joining.Application Fee and Salary StructureThe application fee is Rs 1000 for General, OBC and EWS categories, while SC, ESM and PWD candidates need to pay Rs 500. Payment is to be made online.Selected candidates for Clerk posts will get pay scale of Rs.19,900 to Rs.63,200 under Level-II. Stenotypists will be placed in Level-III with a salary of Rs.21,700 to Rs.69,100.Selection Process and Exam PatternThe selection process includes a written test, followed by typing or skill test, document verification and medical examination. The written test is of 200 marks and is conducted in two sessions.The morning session covers English comprehension, general knowledge and computer skills, while the afternoon session covers mathematics, statistics and reasoning. Both the sessions are objective and OMR based, with no negative marking.Typing test is qualifying in nature.
