The death certificate for Celeste Rivas has been officially updated. Although the facts surrounding his death were initially unclear, it seems that investigators have now discovered new details related to the murder case, singer D4vd.

According to updated documents obtained by TMZ, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has now classified the manner of death as “homicide,” replacing the previous status of “pending investigation.” Although the date, time, place and location of the injury is still ‘unknown’, the “Describe how the injuries occurred (events that led to the injuries)” section now says “with objects”.

In another significant change, the section dealing with ‘pregnancy status’, which previously indicated that Rivas was not pregnant, has now been marked ‘U’ as unknown, indicating that it remains to be seen whether she was pregnant at the time of her death.The developments come as legal proceedings against D4vd, who is David Burke, continue. He has been charged with several crimes, including murder. He has declared himself innocent.
Prosecutors say D4vd killed Celeste to save his career
Prosecutors allege that D4vd killed 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez with multiple stab wounds. According to court filings, the defendant “knew he had to silence the victim before he ruined his music career, as he threatened,” adding that “shortly after arriving at his home, the defendant stabbed the victim several times and left him standing there bleeding.”Authorities have also cited text messages and phone activity that provide an approximate time of her death. Prosecutors obtained text messages between the two from April 22, 2025, the night all her phone activity went silent and they believe she was killed. “The messages reveal the victim’s jealousy of the accused’s relationships with other women, which led the accused to believe they had a future together. She became extremely angry and threatened to reveal damaging information about her relationship with the defendant to end her career and destroy her life,” the document says, according to AP.
About D4vd and Celeste Rivas’ relationship
Prosecutors also allege that D4vd met Celeste when she was 11, had sex with her when she was 13 and she was 18, and allegedly killed her when he threatened to expose their inappropriate relationship.The prosecutor revealed the gruesome details that went into disposing of Celeste’s body. Reports indicated that D4vd bought chainsaws and dismembered the teenager’s body in an inflatable pool.Defense attorneys asked Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo to seal the document at a hearing Wednesday, but she refused.
