CBSE launches Parenting Calendar 2026-27 to institutionalize parental school engagement under NEP 2020 vision

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the parenting calendar for the academic year 2026-27. It seeks to increase engagement between schools and parents for the all-round development of their children. This Parenting Calendar for 2026-27 comes in a continuation of the one introduced last year during 2025-26 based on the NEP 2020 vision of holistic education and enhanced stakeholder engagement. CBSE says the calendar will help institutionalize structured engagement between schools and parents for the benefit of their children.

Expanded Framework for Parental Engagement

This year’s Parenting Calendar for 2026-27 is designed to promote collaboration between schools and parents for better involvement of students in various areas of life with greater involvement of parents. The board also emphasized that the initiative is intended to help families manage academic stress and changing academic expectations while ensuring that students receive balanced support at home and at school.

New focus areas were introduced.

This year’s edition introduces sections dedicated to inclusion and competition with changes. The inclusion module aims to promote awareness and sensitivity towards diverse learning needs and ensure equitable treatment in schools. The ‘Coping with Changes’ segment focuses on helping parents and students prepare for curriculum updates and learning structures. CBSE has highlighted that this enhancement is designed to make the calendar more relevant to contemporary educational challenges.

to strengthen Parent workshops

One of the aspects of the redesigned calendar includes the inclusion of parenting workshops. Along with this aspect, a developmental aspect will be included, making it possible for schools to conduct age- and context-specific engagement programmes.According to CBSE, the workshops will make it easier for parents to know the developmental stage of their children and hence provide appropriate guidance academically and emotionally.

Focus on the whole. Student Development

The idea behind the parenting calendar is to act as a guide to promote better interaction and cooperation between parent and child in the home and school setting. It should be noted that CBSE emphasizes on comprehensive education. The Board emphasizes that the program is designed to build a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive ecosystem that encourages overall student well-being and resilience.
