New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended its psycho-social counseling and tele-support services to students, parents and schools after the announcement of the Class XII board exam results 2026.Students and parents can continue to seek guidance, clarification and assistance regarding results, evaluation and post-result concerns through CBSE’s official support channels, the board said. The move comes amid debate over exam stress, result anxiety and post-assessment questions after the Class XII pass percentage fell to 85.20 percent this year.The relief services will continue till June 1.CBSE had originally launched the first phase of its annual psycho-social counseling program on 6 January 2026 ahead of the board exams. The relief measure was scheduled to remain active until June 1.According to CBSE, counseling services were introduced during the examination cycle of class 10th and 12th to help students deal with exam-related stress, emotional stress and anxiety.The board said the services will remain available to students and parents seeking emotional support or support regarding result-related concerns after the declaration of board examination results.The toll-free helpline is available round the clock.As part of the support mechanism, CBSE continues its 24×7 toll-free Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) service through the number 1800-11-8004.Students can get guidance in both Hindi and English regarding stress management, preparation concerns, frequently asked questions and important information related to CBSE.The helpline is designed to provide quick help and accessible guidance to students dealing with exam stress and post-result stress, the board said.Consultants are available across India and abroad.CBSE Tele Counseling Service operates on working days from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Students and parents can interact directly with trained professionals, including principals, school counsellors, psychologists and special teachers associated with CBSE-affiliated schools.According to the board, 73 professionals are part of the counseling network. Out of these 61 counselors are based in India while 12 are based in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman and United Arab Emirates.CBSE also continues to provide digital resources on stress management, emotional well-being and study planning through its official website. The board said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to help students with “sensitivity and care” during the post-exam and results period.
