The members then walked out onto the palace balcony and greeted the nearly 50,000 fans gathered below. According to AFP, President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the meeting in her regular press conference early this morning. He called BTS “a group that always carries messages of friendship, peace and love.” His words reflected his longstanding support for the group. When the Mexico City concert dates were announced in January, Sheinbaum called it a “historic moment” and said young Mexicans had been waiting for BTS’ return.They were spotted with V, Suga and Jimin Sheinbaum on the balcony of the National Palace in Mexico City’s Zocalo Square. Fans outside held signs saying “BTS will always be in Mexico’s heart” and “Welcome to Mexico.” Many cried as members appeared, while others held up their phones to capture the moment.
BTS Mexico concerts create fan frenzy
BTS fever has spread throughout Mexico City ahead of the shows. As reported by AFP, fans have recently gathered at the Reforma promenade for a promotional event. They danced to BTS songs, showed off temporary tattoos and turned the street into a pre-concert celebration.According to BigHit Music, Mexico is the fifth largest K-pop market worldwide, with BTS leading the way as the country’s most popular K-pop act. The team will perform at the GNP Seguros Stadium on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. All three concerts sold out immediately after going live.BTS returned from military service last June. The members then prepared the album ‘Arirang’ in Los Angeles, and released the album this March.
