Bobby Deol revealed that both his sons, Aryaman and Dharam, are keen on pursuing careers in the entertainment industry, despite efforts to point them in different directions.Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat, Bobby explained why his children’s interests, their talents and the allure of cinema continue to attract the next generation of the Deol family.Speaking about his eldest son Aryaman, Bobby said: “He’s very talented. During the time of COVID, when everyone was stuck at home, he taught himself filmmaking. He learned how to edit films, how to add sound effects, how dubbing works. He taught himself everything.”The actress praised her son’s dedication to improving him physically and creatively.“She worked on her physique. She’s 21 now. She also trained herself in dancing by watching YouTube videos. He did a great job,” Bobby said.
“She clicks most of my Instagram photos”
Bobby later revealed that Aryaman developed a keen interest in photography and spent a year learning from photographer Avinash Gowariker.“There was a phase post-Covid where he became very nervous. Avinash Gowariker, who is a very close friend, told me to send him. Aryaman worked with him for a year and learned photography,” said Bobby.The actor added that many of the photos he posts on social media were actually taken by his son.“He clicks most of the pictures I upload to Instagram. I usually give him credit, but he shut down Instagram because he doesn’t care about followers,” Bobby said.
“My two sons want to be heroes”
Asked if his son would eventually go into films, Bobby admitted that both his children dream of becoming actors.“Both of my sons want to become heroes. What can I do?” he said with a smile.Explaining why acting continues to attract young people, Bobby said, “Whether this industry is a doctor, an engineer or any other profession, you feel in your heart that maybe you can become an actor.”
“I thought he would settle in America”
Bobby also explained that he hoped his eldest son would choose a different career path.“I took my older son to study finance. He went to New York University and passed with honors. He was very good at studies. I thought maybe he would do something else, settle in America, build a career there and we would visit,” said the actor.However, Aryaman had other plans.“But he wanted to be an actor,” Bobby said.According to the actor, his son is currently training and learning trade before entering the industry.“He’s studying now. He’s trying to act and work on himself,” Bobby shared.The family’s passion for cinema looks set to continue for generations to come, with both Aryaman and his younger brother planning to follow in the footsteps of their father, uncle Sunny Deol and grandfather Dharmendra.
