Arjun Sarja starrer ‘Blast’ saw a noticeable drop in collections on its fifth day in theatres. After recording stronger numbers earlier the film slowed down as the weekday business kicked in.According to Sacnilk estimates, the action entertainer earned 3.60 crore on Day 5 in India. The latest figure reflects a 40 percent drop from the previous day’s 6 million collection.Despite the decline, the film has managed to maintain a steady pace in the first week in theaters.
The collection in India is steadily progressing
With Day 5 numbers in, ‘Blast’ has now reached 17.55 crores in Indian collections. Its Indian gross collection currently stands at 20.17 crores.The film created a 5th day business from 2,707 shows in various regions. The Tamil version collected Rs 3 crore on the 5th day. The Telugu version brought in a total of Rs 60 lakh.Tamil occupancy stood at 35 percent on the day. Night shows had the best audience participation and reached 45.77 percent occupancy. ‘Blast’ collected Rs 75 lakh from overseas territories on day 5.The film’s total overseas gross has reached 6.30 crores. Combined with the domestic numbers, the worldwide gross has risen to 26.47 million.The state collection figures showed Tamil Nadu leading the business with Rs 2 crore. Kerala followed with 1.35 million.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 55 lakh. Karnataka contributed 23 lakh, while the rest of the regions added lesser figures.
The Tamil version of ‘Blast’ continues to dominate
Occupancy trends showed higher audience response for the Tamil version as compared to the Telugu version. The Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 33.19 percent. The Telugu version had an overall occupancy of 17.28 percent. The evening shows fared slightly better than the other slots.‘Blast’ is directed by Subash K. Raj. The film features Arjun Sarja in the lead role and presents it in an action-oriented setup.
