New Delhi: Pakistan have announced the 16-member squad for their upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. Captain Shaun Masood He will lead a new team in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle.Pakistan is currently fifth in the WTC table with 50 percent points and will look to climb higher against eighth-placed Bangladesh. The two-match series starting on May 8 also signals a new approach from the selectors, with four uncapped players included in the squad.
Abdullah Fazal, Imad Butt, Azan Owais and Ghazi Ghori have earned their first Test call-ups. Fazal and Owais, both left-handed batsmen, have impressed with consistent performances in domestic cricket, while Butt has gained experience as a bowling all-rounder since his first-class debut in 2015. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ghori recently made his ODI debut against Bangladesh, gaining some international exposure.The squad retains a strong veteran core including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan and Salman Ali Agha, ensuring a balanced mix of youth and experience.Ahead of the tour, the non-Pakistan Super League players will attend the Red Ball training camp in Karachi from April 27 to May 1.The Pakistan Cricket Board has also unveiled a new coaching setup.
