‘Money Heist’ fans can expect something else ahead of ‘Money Heist: Berlin’ season 2. In a public screening, along with an online trailer, the creators of the hit show announced that the universe of ‘Money Heist’ is expanding again. The announcement, before the release of ‘Berlin y la dama del armiño’ or ‘Berlin y la dama del armiño’ season 2, has left fans of the hit show furious, wondering what’s next.
The ‘Money Heist’ spin-off project has been announced
A few days before the release of ‘Money Heist: Berlin’ season 2, the show’s host OTT platform announced a new spin-off. Although no specific details were given as to whether another season would be released for the original series or if there would be another chapter, the announcement was in true ‘Heist’ style.In addition to releasing a video teaser, they organized a big stunt in Seville, Spain to announce their next project. What’s On Netflix reports that on May 9, a group of people descended the body of water in the Guadalquivir River wearing the iconic red jumpsuits and white masks. As thousands watched, the beats of ‘Bella Ciao’, the show’s official theme song, hummed along with them.The trailer for the video also showed clips from all seasons of the original series, along with a long caption revealing that the world of “Money Heist” isn’t over yet. “Some stories start with the perfect strike. And this one changed everything,” the caption began, adding: “From the first heists for cash to the most artful heist of the century, including the raid that netted tons of gold from the Bank of Spain, the universe of La casa de papel continues to grow, evolve and surprise us. But if there is one thing that is clear, it is that the revolution NEVER ends.”The video itself ended with “The Money Heist world continues.” While the platform has chosen to keep any other details of the show under wraps, the trailer and public event have created excitement.
The ‘Money Heist’ universe
As of now, the series has three branches or chapters in the franchise. There is the original ‘Money Heist’ which took place from 2017 to 2021. There is also a South Korean chapter called ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’, and a third spin-off called ‘Berlin’. The first season premiered in 2023, while the second season, ‘Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine’, will be available worldwide on Netflix on May 15.
