He expressed his desire to retire and stay at home with his seven children, finding solace in the support of his wife Hilaria. Despite the legal battles surrounding the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, Baldwin expressed relief at the dismissal of the case, citing his family as his anchor.

Reflecting on the ‘Rust’ tragedy, Baldwin told The Hollywood Reporter, “Dealing with that was unspeakable. Because of the situation, I stayed home a lot. I stayed at home with my children for three and a half years. I worked hard at everything, and that is changing now. I’m going to go and do a bunch of stuff. But I was at home, and I got used to it, and I don’t want to leave my house anymore. I don’t want to work anymore. I want to retire and stay at home with my children.’

“Rust”: The fallout and the legal battle

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hutchins lost his life after Baldwin discharged a propgun with live rounds on set. In January 2023, he was charged with involuntary manslaughter. The charges were dropped a month later, but he was re-indicted in January 2024, before a judge officially dismissed the case in July 2024, barring a retrial. Gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed ‘Rust’ was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and served 13 months in prison.Alec Baldwin revealed to THR, “They tried to get me, and they didn’t get me, and they cheated and broke the law to get me, and it’s been tough.”

Baldwin shares seven children with his wife, Hilaria, and the family offered an inside look at their lives in the 2025 reality series ‘The Baldwins’.
