Reflecting on the ‘Rust’ tragedy, Baldwin told The Hollywood Reporter, “Dealing with that was unspeakable. Because of the situation, I stayed home a lot. I stayed at home with my children for three and a half years. I worked hard at everything, and that is changing now. I’m going to go and do a bunch of stuff. But I was at home, and I got used to it, and I don’t want to leave my house anymore. I don’t want to work anymore. I want to retire and stay at home with my children.’

“Rust”: The fallout and the legal battle

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hutchins lost his life after Baldwin discharged a propgun with live rounds on set. In January 2023, he was charged with involuntary manslaughter. The charges were dropped a month later, but he was re-indicted in January 2024, before a judge officially dismissed the case in July 2024, barring a retrial.
