Veteran singing legend, Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12 at the age of 92. The singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a day earlier. According to the doctor who was treating him in the hospital, he died due to multiple organ failure.The singing legend was given a guard of honor at his residence in Mumbai’s Lower Parel area. His mortal remains were moved from his Lower Parel residence to the Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar. The mortal remains of the singing legend were draped in the tricolor as they were cremated with full state honours.Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Tabu, Vivek Oberoi, music composer Anu Malik, singers Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosale and Shaan and filmmaker Ramesh Sippy and actress Padmini Kolhapure were seen at Shivaji Park for the last rites.Political leaders who paid their last respects included Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis; Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde; Former CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray; and MNS supremo, Raj Thackeray.The singer was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000, followed by the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
