The Walt Disney Co. held a blockbuster presentation showing new footage from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ along with other films. Robert Downey Jr. was there to present the trailer for the film that unites the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four in the MCU for the first time.

Kevin Feige said that “Avengers: Endgame” will be re-released before “Doomsday” in September, and he said, “It picks up where ‘Endgame’ left off, but it also goes back to where it all started with ‘X-MEN.’ the director Joe Russo also set high expectations for the film’s central antagonist, “Victor Von Doom is the greatest Marvel villain of all time. Yes, he’s bigger than Thanos.”

The presentation included a lengthy trailer that, according to attendees, was “violence-driven” and “stops at nothing,” showcasing the sprawling multi-franchise conflict. The footage reportedly opens with narration from Doctor Doom and Thor, with Downey Jr. adopting a different accent to portray Victor Von Doom, which is very different from the iconic Tony Stark voice. His first look, in full body armor and a mask, is featured in the new clip. According to the tweets, the trailer begins at the X-Men mansion, with Professor X reacting to an explosion outside, while Doom is seen making a dramatic entrance into the mansion’s courtyard, announcing impending doom and suggesting the heroes must make an “unthinkable decision.”The image also shows a crossover of characters and teams such as the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers and Sam Wilson’s Avengers, all together inside Avengers Tower, now sporting a redesigned “New Avengers” logo. Elsewhere, a striking visual shows a desert-like landscape, which is actually the ocean floor, split by Namor, where the Fantastic Four meet the Wakandans.

Several action sequences drew particular attention, including Channing Tatum’s Gambit facing off against Shang-Chi, and Mystique before battling Yelena. A large-scale Avengers vs. X-Men confrontation is also teased, along with a showdown between Thor and Doctor Doom.Chris HemsworthThor is portrayed as the central figure trying to unite the heroes by giving a speech to resolve their differences. At one key moment, he declares, “We need a miracle,” before holding up Mjolnir. In a dramatic twist, the hammer leaves Thor’s hand and flies towards Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers with Thor saying “it’s not possible” as Captain America returns to the fray.The trailer ends with Steve joining the battle and meeting Thor, the moment he “brought the house down” at the convention.

The first reactions from the participants have been enthusiastic. “The Avengers: Doomsday trailer is absolutely glorious and as a Marvel fan I’m in awe of the dream of this movie,” said one viewer. Another described the film as a “spectacular superhero team-up,” adding that “a million dollars is inevitable,” highlighting the Gambit versus Shang-Chi sequence as a standout.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will be one of Marvel’s most ambitious projects to date. The makers also confirmed a December 18 release, setting it up for a clash with ‘Dune: Part Three’ at the box office.
