Assam Board Announces Class 12 Results: Science bounces back strongly after last year's decline

The Assam Class 12 board results declared on Tuesday saw a five percentage point increase in the science pass rate, while arts and commerce recorded a slight decline.Science improved to 89.79% from 84.88% last year. Commerce fell from 82.18% to 81.13% in 2025, and Arts from 81.03% to 79.54%. 74.19% students passed in vocational stream.Assam State School Education Board has not released the list of rank holders.Over 3.3 lakh candidates – the highest ever – appeared for the February-March exams.Last year, the pass percentage fell to 5–7% in all three major streams. Despite the high turnout this year, officials said the overall performance was satisfactory, especially in science. In 2025, Science decreased to 84.88% from 89.88% in 2024, Commerce to 82.18% from 87.66% and Arts to 81.03% from 88.36%.
