The Federation of Cine Workers of Western India (FWICE) has issued a non-cooperation directive to the contrary Ranveer Singh On the ‘Don 3’ case. A day after the directive was officially issued, FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit revealed that the federation made three attempts to reach the actor before taking action. The announcement added a new dimension to the ongoing controversy surrounding Singh’s sudden exit Farhan AkhtarIt’s ‘Don 3’.
Ashoke Pandit reveals Ranveer Singh’s answer
Speaking exclusively to ETimes, Ashoke Pandit explained the sequence of events that led to the non-cooperation directive, and made it clear that the federation had given Singh a chance to settle the matter. He said, “So we tried our best very hard. We sent him invitations three times. There was no response, and finally he sent an email when he came to know that we are holding a press conference, saying this is not in your jurisdiction,” Pandit said.He added that the federation remains open to dialogue and is ready to wait for a resolution. “So we said, fine, if you feel so strongly. Toh theek hai. Koi baat nahi. It doesn’t matter. So that’s a basic thing; we’ll wait. We’ll sit with the producer body. We’ll sit with different associations, and we’ll see how things go,” he said.
What is the ‘Don 3’ case?
Ranveer Singh was officially announced as the new Don in 2023, taking over the iconic role previously played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Although a promotional video created a lot of buzz, the project was soon plagued with delays and uncertainty.Multiple reports suggest that Singh left due to creative differences; he reportedly wanted a darker and more aggressive version of the character, including stronger language and increased violence, while Farhan Akhtar reportedly preferred to stay closer to the franchise’s original vision. Reports also indicated that Singh was frustrated by repeated production delays and not having a final script locked.It is important to note that Ranveer Singh has not released any official statement to clarify the reasons behind his exit from ‘Don 3’.
