CHENNAI: The School Education Department of Tamil Nadu will open applications for the 2026 Class X State Board Supplementary Examination from May 26 (Tuesday). The exams will be held from July 8 to 15.School students who failed or were absent from the examination can apply for failed subjects through their respective schools. Applications can be submitted in person at the school from 26 May (Tuesday) to 6 June (Sunday) from 11 am to 5 pm.Private candidates desirous of applying for the examination will have to apply through the Service Centers established district wise on the same dates and times — details of which will be available at www.dge.tn.gov.in.Private candidates should carry a copy of their Aadhaar card and passport size photograph for applications. A fee of Rs.195 has to be paid by the candidate in cash at the respective centers (in schools for school students) to apply for the examination, irrespective of the number of examinations.Additionally, the department has initiated a special permission scheme for candidates who fail to apply between the above dates. Applications can be submitted on June 9 and 10. These applications should be submitted online through the school or service center with a fee of Rs 695 — as these students will be charged a ‘Tatakal’ fee of Rs 500.However, students of government and aided schools who are applying for the examination need not pay this tatkal fee. Additionally, students who fail or are absent from the science practical exams need to obtain an acknowledgment slip to appear in the supplementary exam. Candidates should visit the concerned District Education Officer (Secondary Grade) between May 26 (Tuesday) and June 9, pay a fee of Rs.125 and obtain a receipt. “Only candidates producing this admit slip will be allowed to attend Science Practical Training Class.
