Punjabi actor-singer Amy Virk has credited Ranveer Singh and Deepika PadukoneDua’s daughter for bringing good luck in the actor’s life, recalling the touching conversation they had before the release of their first film Dhurandhar.Speaking to Connect Cine, Ammy revealed that Ranveer sent her a heartfelt message after the trailer release, sharing how much he had invested — both emotionally and financially — in the ambitious project.
‘His daughter brought him good luck’
Recalling their exchange, Ammy said, “I congratulated Dhurandhar after the trailer came out. His daughter was born by then. He sent me a long message in English. He told me that I have invested everything in this film.”The actor said that he encouraged Ranveer to stay positive and reminded him that fatherhood has brought a new chapter in his life.“I told him to wait and see and that his daughter has brought him good luck and that God would be kind. And that’s what happened. His daughter brought him good luck,” Ammy said.Ranveer and Deepika welcomed their daughter Dua in September 2024.
“Children come with their fortunes”
Ammy revealed that she had another conversation with Ranveer before the release of her second film Dhurandhar, which was also a huge hit.“I said, ‘Look, your daughter brought good luck.'” Children come with their fortunes. The second film also turned out very well. He was very happy,” she said.The actor added that he is proud to see his friend achieve such remarkable success.“You feel so proud that India’s most successful franchise has my friend,” Ammy remarked.
Ammy supports Ranveer Don 3 controversy
In the same interview, Ammy publicly defended Ranveer amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his exit from Don 3.Talking about the dispute between Ranveer and Excel Entertainment, Ammy questioned whether the producers were demanding Rs 45 crore from the actor after the success of Dhurandhar.“I feel, when it had some flops, then Don 3 could have started. Then it was ignored. Now that Dhurandhar is a hit, they are asking for the money back,” he said, arguing that Ranveer was not expected to pay the reported compensation amount.
