Banerjee has received a lot of love for some of her recent performances like ‘Stolen’, ‘Stree 2’ etc. Celebrating his birthday today, May 4, in a recent interview, he explained his career and experiences in the industry. Asked if he ever feels surprised despite being a part of the industry, Abhish immediately signed up Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. “That film hasn’t been released yet, but when I met Mr. Bachchan, I was in awe. I was shaking on the set, goosebumps. Working with someone I’ve admired and followed all my life, that was very special for me,” he told Screen in an interview. Recalling their first meeting, Abhish said he instinctively bent down to touch Bachchan’s feet but was quickly stopped by the veteran actor. “I went to look for his feet, of course. But he was very angry with me. He immediately said: ‘What are you doing?’ Why are you doing this? I was so confused because Indian families only teach that, by touching the feet of the elders.’Later, after talking to the film’s director, Ribhu Dasgupta, Abhishek understood the reason behind Bachchan’s reaction. “But then I realized and spoke to the director of the film, Ribhu Dasgupta. He told me that Amitabh sir doesn’t like this because he feels that the moment you do that, you’re not a co-actor. You’re already putting him on a pedestal. And he’s such a professional man, he wants to see everyone equally, so. That’s very nice.”He added that Bachchan prefers to be seen as a colleague rather than respected on set. “I realized that he doesn’t want to be seen as an old man. He wants to be like a co-actor, a colleague. That’s the kind of professionalism. There’s no ego in that man, but there’s more professionalism than any actor I’ve worked with. I’m including all the youngsters, nobody in this industry is as professional as Amitabh Bachchan.”“Abhishek also spoke about meeting Shah Rukh Khan, an experience that left a lasting impression on him. “No one in this industry is as cool as SRK. When I met him, I kept telling myself that I really need to do something in life to be able to relax with this person. You want to spend time with some people and not just work, and that’s the kind of man he is. He’s so wise, intelligent and has so much energy in life. It’s unbelievable,” he said.
