The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has invited applications for its newly launched Industry Fellowship Program (IFP) 2026, which aims to strengthen ties between academia and industry. The program seeks to equip faculty members with practical industry experience to better align classroom teaching with the demands of an evolving workforce.The fellowship will allow selected faculty members from AICTE-accredited institutions to spend a year working directly with industries in high-growth sectors. The application process is currently ongoing, and selected Fellows will begin their industry work on July 20, 2026.The application portal for the Industry Fellowship Program is now open. Interested candidates can submit their applications online till 25 June 2026. The fellowship will be for one year starting from 20th July 2026.Under the program, fellows will get financial assistance of Rs.1 lakh per month. Out of this amount, AICTE will provide Rs 75,000 per month, while partner industry will contribute at least Rs 25,000 per month. For the 2026 cycle, AICTE has partnered with several major companies, including Tata Consumer Products Limited, Hero MotoCorp Ltd and Volvo. Together, these organizations are offering 134 fellowship positions.
AICTE Industry Fellowship Programme 2026: Eligibility
Applicants should be 50 years or below as on 26 May 2026. Candidates should also have at least five years of full-time teaching experience in an AICTE approved institution. In addition to these conditions, applicants must meet at least one additional eligibility criteria. These include qualifying national or state level exams like GATE, GRE, CAT, MAT, JRF, SRF or NET. Publish at least five research papers in journals indexed to Scopus or Web of Science; Leading government funded research projects worth at least Rs.15 lakhs; or receiving scientific or academic honors recognized by government agencies or universities.
How to Apply for AICTE Industry Fellowship 2026
Applications can be submitted through the official AICTE Industry Fellowship Portal. The selection process will be done in three stages, which includes document verification by AICTE committee, industry interview and final verification of credentials.Applicants have to upload all the required documents in the prescribed format while submitting their online forms.
