
The offense comes under Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials, which deals with “use of audible obscenity during a match”. The incident took place during the 19th over of the second innings when Pollard allegedly hurled abuse at the fourth umpire.
The IPL released a statement on Friday that read, “

Mumbai Indiansplayers and team officials are fined 15% of their applicable match fee and one demerit point for violating Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Pollard was found to have breached Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with ‘use of audible obscenity during a match’.
“The incident took place in the 19th over of the second innings when Pollard used abusive language towards the fourth umpire. Pollard pleaded guilty and accepted the ban imposed by match referee Pankaj Dharmani.”
