Anushka Sharma and Virat KohliThe 2017 wedding continues to be the benchmark when it comes to celebrity weddings, and years later, fans are still pouring over videos and pictures of the couple from their big day. It was also one of the most closely guarded celebrity affairs in recent memory. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, attended by around 40 close friends and family. Despite a strict guest list, an unsuspecting intruder managed to escape security, Aamir Khan crashed a wedding like something out of ‘3 Idiots’. In a recent interview, Yaseen Khan, founder of the security agency hired for the event, revealed how the breach happened.“A gatecrasher, dressed like a maharaja, arrived in a BMW, accompanied by two bouncers in a Safari,” he said in a chat with Hindi Rush. “I wasn’t at the door. I was on the main floor where the wedding was being held. My team was there. We know the doormen by face. My manager had a doubt, so he expressed it to the event management team.”
However, the event staff, especially the young trainees, were sure the man was a legitimate guest, largely because he drove into a luxury car. As a result, they let him in. “When I would lay my eyes on him, he would be alone in the corner. His security guards would click his picture with a celebrity, and then he would retreat to the corner. If you are a guest, you would mingle with others at the wedding,” explains Khan.Suspicious of his behavior, Khan decided to dig deeper. The man said he was the nephew of a celebrity guest who was unable to attend the event in Italy.“So I went to Virat’s manager and asked if that guest is invited. He said no, he’s only invited for the wedding reception in Delhi. So I went back to the gatecrasher and told him that only invited guests are allowed. He threw a bit of an attitude before leaving,” Khan recalled.Khan also spoke about another high-profile marriage challenge, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singhcelebrations of After the ceremony in Lake Como, the couple hosted a grand reception in Mumbai, which attracted a crowd, including hundreds of media personnel and fans. Due to a lapse in coordination with the event team, the crowd was directed to the wrong exit, causing chaos. “It became very hard. There were only 20 security guards. Because the pressure from the public is too great. They pushed me so hard, my hand went numb. I found out later that my shoulder had dislocated,” Khan said.
