Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric in the Indian market on April 24, 2026. Pre-booking has started from March 10. Interested customers can book the EV online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The booking amount is set at Rs 1.50 lakh, and those who book the car in advance will get a free wall box charger.The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric will be offered in two variants – the 200 standard range and the 250 Plus extended range. Deliveries of the CLA 250+ Long Range will begin from late April, soon after the official launch. Deliveries of the CLA 200 standard range will begin later, with the company scheduling them from June 2026. Launch prices are expected to be around Rs. 55 lakh for the CLA 200 standard range and Rs. 59 lakhs for the CLA 250+ Long Range (ex-showroom). However, the final price will depend on the prevailing forex rates at the time of official launch.
The new Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is offered in two variants – the 200 standard range and the 250 Plus extended range. The 250 Plus variant has an 85kW battery pack coupled with an electric motor, which sends power to the rear wheels and produces 268hp and 335Nm of torque. It also has a two-speed gearbox and has a claimed range of up to 792 km (WLTP). The CLA 200 Standard Range, the second version of the model, offers a claimed driving range of 542 km. The CLA 250+ supports DC fast charging of up to 320 kW, while the CLA 200 supports up to 200 kW. In 20 minutes, the CLA 250+ can add 400 km of range, while the CLA 200 can add up to 320 km. The new Mercedes-Benz CLA EV emphasizes aerodynamics and has a drag coefficient of 0.21. The sedan adopts a low stance, long wheelbase and short overhangs for balanced proportions. At the front, it has a gloss black closed grille panel with bright star pattern elements and the central Mercedes emblem. Slim LED headlamps are joined across the fascia by a light bar, while the bumper features active air inlets to aid cooling and airflow.
In profile, the CLA EV retains the frameless doors and sloping roofline. It also gets flush door handles and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels to improve performance. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar with star pattern detailing mirrors the front light design. The bumper is clean, while other features include chrome accents, a grille with 142 small backlit stars, a panoramic glass roof with heat-protective coating, and five-spoke aero wheels.The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV has a minimalist, screen-focused cabin that prioritizes technology and usability. The highlight of the cabin is a dual-screen layout with a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The cabin features a three-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, while a carbon fiber finish on the center console adds a classy visual touch. Features include 64-color ambient lighting, 16-speaker Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, heated, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging, six 100W USB-C fast charging ports, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, the latest MTEGUX.
