Images of the next-generation Hyundai i20 have surfaced online ahead of its global debut, giving a detailed look at the hatchback’s completely redesigned exterior and cabin.The leaked images reveal a dramatic departure from the current i20’s design. While the hatchback retains its overall silhouette, Hyundai has introduced several styling changes that give it a more crossover-inspired look. At the front, the new i20 features a full-width LED light bar that connects to a pair of arrow-shaped headlamps. The lighting units include Y-shaped LED DRLs, while the rear gets an integrated taillight setup housed within triangular clusters. The hatchback also gets newly designed alloy wheels.

Inside, Hyundai has given the i20 a completely updated cabin. The dashboard now has a large curved display integrating the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen. The car also gets a new three-spoke steering wheel and a redesigned center console with a slimmer layout.The leaked model also flaunts soft-touch material on the door pads with a dual-tone beige and gray interior theme.Although Hyundai has not revealed official technical specifications, the new generation i20 is expected to continue with the existing engine options in several markets. These include an 83 hp 1.2 liter petrol engine and a 120 hp 1.0 liter turbo petrol unit. The vehicle seen in the leaked images bears the ‘TGDi’ badge, confirming the presence of a turbocharged engine in the lineup.India is expected to remain one of the key markets for the i20, with local production likely to continue for both the right-hand drive and left-hand drive export markets. The new hatchback is expected to arrive in India by early 2027, where it will renew its competition with models like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza.The fourth-generation i20 represents one of the biggest design overhauls in the model’s history.
