Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s hit fantasy actioner ‘Karuppu’ is slowly approaching the final phase of its theatrical journey. After almost four weeks in theaters, the film continues to register collections despite facing a natural slowdown.According to Sacnilk, ‘Karuppu’ earned Rs 43 lakhs in India on 27 days. The collection came from 869 shows in various regions. The latest number represents a 4.4 percent drop from the Rs 45 lakhs net collected on Day 26.
The Indian box office total is approaching 200 crores
Karuppu’s net collection in India has increased to 194.81 crores. The film’s gross collection in India now stands at Rs 225.15 crore.The film had a fantastic opening week and collected 113.85 crores. It maintained its strong momentum in the second week with 54.30 crores. Another 21.20 crores were added to the account in the third week. The film has already achieved success at the box office.
Overseas performance boosts worldwide
On day 27, the film grossed 10 lakhs overseas. This took the overseas total to 80.90 crore. ‘Karuppu’ has now achieved a worldwide gross collection of 306.05 crores.
The occupation remains stable in the fourth week
Even as it entered its fourth week, ‘Karuppu’ continued to attract viewers in Tamil Nadu and other major markets. The Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 15.91 percent on the 27th day.Morning shows had 9.36 percent occupancy. Evening shows improved to 16.64 percent. Evening shows registered 16.36 percent, while night shows recorded 17.91 percent.
OTT premiere around the corner
The action-fantasy entertainer will premiere worldwide on Prime Video on June 12.
