National Award winning actor Salim Kumar has reportedly been admitted to a private hospital after suffering health complications. As reported by ANI, the hospital authorities stated that the actor is undergoing treatment and is on ventilator support. More details about his medical condition are expected to be shared at a later date. Recent reports also stated that the actor remains under close medical observation.
Salim Kumar had a memorable career
Over the years, Salim Kumar established himself as one of the most popular names in Malayalam cinema. Before entering films, he was associated with mimicry, stage acting and theater performances.He started his film journey in the late 1990s and later created a strong identity through comedy and character driven roles.One of the biggest moments of his career was with ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’, which won him the National Film Award for Best Actor.Apart from acting, Salim Kumar also studied filmmaking and writing. His directorial work ‘Karutha Joothan’ received acclaim and later won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Story. He also won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor Second Best Actor for ‘Achanurangatha Veedu’.Despite his health problems in recent years, the actor continued to appear in films. I will definitely say that the answer is no. There were a lot of good comedy movies at the time, and the industry today doesn’t really have good comedy movies that will make you laugh.”Discussing recent films like Premalu and Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, he added, “It’s been a long time since I watched a good comedy film and didn’t laugh. There can be various counter-arguments to this, but I am of the opinion that these new films are revamping the old comedies.”
