In 2018, Ram Charan was similarly seen in the critically acclaimed film ‘Rangasthalam’, where he played the role of Chitti Babu, a simple and kind-hearted deaf villager living in the fictional village of Rangasthalam. The film is one of Ram Charan’s best roles ever. Director Sukumar and ‘Peddi’ director Buchi Babu Sana also contributed to the film’s script and dialogues. Moreover, Sukumar, who is also the mentor of Buchi Babu Sana, is the co-producer of the upcoming film and remains a key figure in the production of the film.

We have seen Ram Charan marking his debut as a passionate and powerful young man, who has a dual avatar, biker racing and 17th century. He has been a warrior of the century, a freedom fighter marking the path in these memorable roles. For ‘Peddi’, Ram Charan is gearing up for something new as he will be seen as a sports athlete in the upcoming folk sports action drama where he is expected to be seen as someone who fights for his people or the downtrodden through sports. Ram Charan is seen playing cricket, fighting himself in the ring and is also seen as a professional athlete in sprint races. For the movie Ram Charan trained as a wrestler for over four months and built a muscular body. During the filming, he also had several injuries.
A highly emotional film with commercial and massive elements
With large scale production, big budget and star studded film elements, ‘Peddi’ can be seen as another commercial entertainer; the makers have strongly suggested that the Ram Charan actor has a lot of emotional value. In an interview to PTI, Ram Charan said that he believes the story will touch people of all ages. The actor said the film carries strong emotions, drama and inspiration till the end. In the conversation with Gulte, Buchi Babu Sana also shared that the last 50 minutes of the film will be very emotional, touching and very disturbing. He shared that after watching the ending, viewers may walk out of theaters with heavy hearts. At the same time, he believes that the audience will feel that they have seen a memorable film that stays with them for a long time.
‘Peddi’ with a star studded cast
Apart from Ram Charan, ‘Peddi’ has a star-studded cast, among others Janhvi Kapoorwho plays the female lead in the film. Her character, named Achiyyamma, is a very energetic village-based character with a playful vibe. Meanwhile, the film also features veteran Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar in an important character, Gournaidu, who is seen as a man who looks like the leader of his team and wields a strong command. Another leading actor of the Telugu film industry, Jagapathi Babu, plays the character of Appalasoori. He seems to be playing an old village character. He keeps an intense, angry look on his face, wearing glasses. ‘Mirzapur’ fame is seen as Divyenndu Rambujji, who seems to be playing a gray character and Boman Irani and Ravi Kishan are seen making special appearances in the film.
AR Rahman the music of
Apart from strong actors, the ‘Peddi’ team also includes outstanding technicians. The film’s music is composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman. Among the released songs is the upbeat and soulful first single ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ sung by Mohit Chauhan. Later, the makers also shared a dance number titled ‘Rai Rai Raa Raa’ sung by AR Rahman himself. The makers also released a special song from the film, ‘Hellalallo’ featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Shruti Haasan along with Ram Charan. Later, they released another song, ‘Massa Massa Song’, to which Vishal Mishra added his vocals. All four songs have received good response from the audience ahead of its worldwide release on June 4, 2026.
