India’s two-wheeler industry continued its strong momentum in May 2026, with several manufacturers reporting healthy year-on-year (YoY) growth in domestic sales, exports and overall shipments. Hero MotoCorp, Honda, TVS, Bajaj and Suzuki all posted positive numbers during the month.
Two Wheeler Sales May 2026: How Brands Performed
Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp continued to lead sales as it reported total shipments of 5,70,068 units in May 2026. The company had shipped 5,07,701 units during the same period last year, showing strong year-on-year growth.Domestic sales stood at 5,36,784 units, up 9.77% from May 2025. Motorcycle sales reached 5,03,763 units, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 6.02 percent, while scooter sales rose 103.78 percent to 66,305 units.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India also posted double-digit growth during the month. The company recorded total sales of 5.18 lakh units in May 2026, up 12% from 4.65 lakh units sold in May 2025.Domestic sales stood at 4.59 lakh units, up 10 percent from 4.17 lakh units sold during the same month last year. Exports reached 0.59 lakh units, up 24% from May 2025 exports of 0.47 lakh units.
TVS Motor Company
TVS Motor Company emerged as one of the strongest performers this month. Total two-wheeler sales grew 31% year-on-year to 5,43,111 units, up from 4,16,166 units sold in May 2025.Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 24 percent to 3,84,565 units. During the month, motorcycle sales increased by 30 percent to 2,73,802 units while scooter sales increased by 32 percent to 2,20,740 units.
Bajaj Auto
Bajaj Auto has also recorded healthy growth in both the domestic and international markets. The company sold 2,09,528 two-wheelers in the domestic market in May 2026, an increase of 9% compared to 1,91,412 units sold in May 2025.Exports contributed to Bajaj’s overall performance, which grew 30 percent to 1,83,676 units as against 1,40,958 units in the same month last year. Combined domestic and export sales stood at 3,93,204 units, an increase of 18% compared to 3,32,370 units sold in May 2025.
Suzuki Motorcycle India
Suzuki Motorcycle India also reported its highest ever monthly sales performance in May 2026. The company sold a total of 1,32,244 units during the month, registering a year-on-year growth of 3% compared to 1,28,897 units sold in May 2025.Domestic sales touched an all-time high of 1,10,028 units, up 2 percent from 1,07,780 units sold during the same month last year. Exports also maintained steady growth, rising 5 percent to 22,216 units from 21,117 units in May 2025.
Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield also reported positive growth during the month. The company’s domestic motorcycle sales rose 24% to 94,115 units as against 75,820 units sold in May 2025. However, exports declined by 33 percent to 9,116 units from 13,609 units a year ago.The brand’s overall sales in May 2026 stood at 1,03,231 units, a growth of 15% compared to 89,429 units sold during the same period last year.
