According to ANI, producer Ramesh Taurani, Tips Films and the team of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ issued an official statement in response to Bhagnani’s claims. ABP Live also reported the statement where officials said, “Recently, Mr. Vashu Bhagnani has made some baseless allegations against us. It is quite clear to us that this is a publicity campaign driven by personal vendetta, aimed at stalling the release of our film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.“The officials also mentioned his long association with Bhagnani. They said, “Our association with Mr. Bhagnani dates back to 1995, when we generously offered him 50 percent partnership and producer credit on a project where we laid all the groundwork. Coolie No. 1 became a box office hit and launched Mr. Bhagnani in the industry.”
Rights to ‘Chunnari Chunnari’ and ‘Ishq Sona Hai’
The group questioned Bhagnani’s legal recourse and said he chose to file a complaint in Bihar’s Katihar court, far from Mumbai, instead of opening a direct dialogue. The Indian Express had earlier reported that the dispute is over the alleged unauthorized use of intellectual property related to older films including ‘Biwi No. 1′.The statement added, “We are disappointed and disheartened by the behavior of Mr. Bhagnani. We request the public not to heed such targeted negativity. We maintain that we are the absolute and legal owners of the songs Chunnari Chunnari and Ishq Sona Hai.”NDTV reported that Tips had earlier said that it had taken legal steps, including support from the Supreme Court of India on May 22, 2026. Bhagnani’s side said he intended to challenge that order. Officials said the matter is sub judice and added that this will be their only public statement for now. They ended by saying that they had full faith in the legal system.
