And it was a pure honor to work alongside him.”

Expressing his unwavering confidence in the project, Kothare said, “I am quite confident that the audience will enjoy ‘Ramayana’ as I believe it is an honestly made film, and one of the most beautiful scripts I have read in my life.”

10,000 crew members, two-part layoff

‘Ramayana’ will be a two-part release, with Part 1 hitting theaters in November and Part 2 in 2027. The first part features Sai. Pallavi As Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The scale of the production is staggering, with over 10,000 crew members said to be working on the film, the largest ever for an Indian film.

At a special screening in New York, after unveiling the first look of Ram from the film in Los Angeles, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about the weight of playing Lord Ram. He spoke of approaching roles with honesty and a deep sense of responsibility. “As an actor, my Dharma is to do my job to the best of my ability with honesty and truth. There is a beautiful saying in our scriptures which is ‘Dharma protects those who protect.’“As an artist, it is my job to approach my work honestly with the responsibility of the hundreds and billions of Indians and other cultures who are going to see this film,” he said.
