Genesis frontman and legendary rock icon Phil Collins recently made a rare public comment to update fans on his health and what’s going on in his life. In a recent interview, the well-known singer said that, although he has dealt with a lot, he is on the road to recovery.

Collins recently sat down for a chat with the BBC where he talked about his day-to-day life, revealing how his health is doing since the last update. He clarified that he has experienced many things in the context of his health in the last two years. He added that although the last ’18 months’ have been much better, the previous time was quite difficult to deal with.Adding more context, “Before that, it’s not so good. All the health channels hit me at once, and anything that could go wrong did go wrong. But now everything is fine.” Collins also gave some insight into what’s been going on with his health, saying: “I had problems with my knee, I had them for a while, but I played through it, I toured. But I ended up having to have knee surgery, and I had to [it] because it kept getting infected five times or it broke, you know. So I was inactive for a long time.’

During the interview, the drummer was also asked about his upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The induction will take place in November this year. He later revealed that the company had asked him to perform at their event; however, he mentioned that he had to miss the opportunity to focus on his health. He added: “I can’t see that happening, but I’m healthier now than I’ve been in quite some time.“Whether or not he will return to the music scene, the actor gave some hope to the musician’s long-time fans. He added that “I’m constantly telling myself: ‘I have to go down to the studio at home'”. I have many lyrical ideas that I write down. And there are half-finished things, and a couple of finished things. So to start working on things I can sink my teeth into.’For the uninitiated, Collins retired as a drummer in 2022, saying his health was deteriorating and he would no longer be able to continue. He has also undergone knee surgery. Although he has mostly stayed away from the limelight, there have been times when the famous musician has been seen attending public events with the help of crutches.
