Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, who now live in London with their two children, are expanding their property portfolio in the UK. The couple who first made headlines for buying a lavish mansion worth nearly £270m in Notting Hill have now reportedly added another major property investment to their name.According to a report by Hindustan Times, Sonam and Anand have reportedly bought five apartments in a building near the palace for £4 million 51.4 million. The report also said the apartments would serve as accommodation for workers, which has reportedly left some of the building’s residents unhappy.According to the Daily Mail, locals also said that a spokesman linked to the company involved had reportedly warned that the flats could be turned into “social housing” if objections from residents continued. However, a representative related to the couple clarified that the Kapoor family had no direct involvement with the company and said the flats were acquired only as an investment.One resident told the publication: “We’re being made to feel afraid to speak out just because they’re powerful. We’ve created a sense of community here and that’s changing because some millionaires want to turn our house into another playground. That’s going to change even more if they let people into what they call ‘social housing.’ Some are doing it. But behind the scenes, they have a say in what happens here. How is that acceptable?’The publication also reported that Sonam and Anand have spent around £4.7 million (60.4 million) renovating their Notting Hill mansion. Apart from the property in London, the couple also has residences in Mumbai and Delhi.Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja got married in March 2018 and welcomed their first child, son Vayu, in August 2022. Earlier this year, on March 29, the couple shared the news of the arrival of their second child through a joint announcement on social media.“With hearts full of gratitude and love, we are happy to announce the arrival of our baby boy today, March 29, 2026,” the message read.
