At the front, the new Tiago has been completely redesigned with slimmer full-LED headlamps and integrated LED DRLs. A glossy black panel runs across the nose with the Tata Motors logo in the center. The bumper has also been revised and has a trapezoidal design with multiple horizontal slats in the centre. The carmaker has differentiated between the petrol and electric versions through its front-end treatment. The ICE model gets a more traditional lower grille setup and fog lamps integrated into the bumper, while the EV has a clean, body-colored front section. An interesting detail seen in the teaser is the presence of a front-facing camera, which hints at the addition of a 360-degree camera system. Other expected additions include a revised digital instrument cluster, an updated touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging and possibly ventilated front seats on higher trims. The side profile is largely similar to the outgoing model, though Tata has added fresh alloy wheel designs. The petrol version gets new dual-tone diamond-cut alloys, while the EV gets aero-style wheel inserts. At the rear, the biggest change is the addition of integrated LED tail lamps. The rear bumper has also been redesigned and now has vertical reflectors. There is also a shark fin antenna and roof spoiler. Interestingly, both the petrol and EV versions look almost identical from the rear, with only the “Tiago.ev” badging and green registration plate helping to differentiate the electric version. Tata also showcased the hatchback in new shades including green and orange.Mechanically, the standard Tiago is expected to remain unchanged. It is likely to continue with the same 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, offered with a choice of manual and AMT gearboxes. Tata is also expected to retain the factory-fitted CNG option. The current petrol engine produces 86 PS and 113 Nm, while the CNG version produces 73.4 PS and 95 Nm.The Tiago EV, meanwhile, is expected to get major updates under the skin. Tata may introduce a 30 kWh battery pack with better range figures, faster charging capabilities. Full details on specifications, features and pricing will be revealed at the official launch later this month.
