Skoda Auto India has entered the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records after setting the ‘Fastest Multi-Car Relay by a Single Manufacturer on a Circuit’ at the CoASTT track in Coimbatore. This success comes with the company’s new ‘GOAT – Greatest on a Track’ campaign, which focuses on highlighting the performance-oriented character of the brand’s line-up in India. The record was set using a fleet of five Škoda models driven by five consecutive drivers in a single uninterrupted relay. The combined time recorded by the fleet was 12:30.97, including pit lane driver changes, making it the fastest total relay time achieved by a single manufacturer in the country. The relay included Kylaq 1.0 AT, Kushaq 1.5 DSG, Slavia 1.5 DSG, Kodiaq Selection L&K and Octavia RS. Each car completed laps around the 3.8km CoASTT circuit, with the Octavia RS emerging as the fastest model of the bunch after posting a 2:10.85 lap time. The newly launched Kylaq compact SUV completed its lap in 2:31.6, while the Kushaq clocked 2:29.7. The Slavia sedan clocked 2:27.63, and the Kodiaq selection L&K managed 2:26.34, despite being a large seven-seat luxury SUV with four-wheel drive capability.According to Skoda Auto India, the relay format requires each vehicle in the line-up to perform consistently under demanding conditions, including quick pit lane changes. The aim of the exercise, the company says, was to demonstrate the agility, braking ability, handling balance and overall dynamic strength of its vehicles, which also contribute to better control and safety in everyday driving situations.Currently, Skoda Auto India sells models like Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq and Kodiaq in the country. The company is present in 182 cities with more than 330 customer touch points and recorded sales of 72,665 vehicles in 2025, a year-on-year growth of 107%.
