UP Govt Teacher Recruitment 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government has started the process to recruit 10,000 new teachers for schools located in urban areas under the Basic Education Council. The development was announced by Sandeep Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Primary Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh.According to the minister, the application for the recruitment process has already been submitted and the appointments will start soon. The announcement was made through a public statement highlighting the state government’s focus on creating education and employment opportunities for the youth in Uttar Pradesh.The recruitment process for urban schools has been started.The proposed recruitment drive will cover schools functioning in urban areas under the Basic Education Council. The state government said the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and meet staffing needs in schools.Sandeep Singh said that the recruitment of teachers will create employment opportunities for candidates who want to get a position in the education sector. He further said that the process of appointment of instructors in upper primary schools will also be started along with the exercise of recruitment of teachers.The minister said that this initiative is linked to the broader objective of increasing access to education and increasing employment opportunities for the youth across the state.Placements are planned for upper primary schools.Apart from the recruitment of teachers in urban schools, the government has also announced the selection of instructors for upper primary schools. Details about the number of posts and schedule of appointments have not been released yet.The minister said that the applications related to the recruitment process have already been sent for approval. Appointments are expected to go ahead after completion of administrative formalities.The announcement comes at a time when the Uttar Pradesh government is focusing on staffing requirements in schools managed under the framework of the Basic Education Council.
