National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced revision of FASTag annual pass fee for the upcoming financial year 2026-27. The annual pass will now cost Rs 3,075, which is Rs 75 more than the current price of Rs 3,000. The revised rate will be applicable from April 1.According to the authority, the fee update has been implemented in accordance with the provisions of the National Highways Fees (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, which govern toll charges on national highways and expressways. The FASTag Annual Pass was introduced on August 15, 2025, with the aim of providing financial relief to frequent highway users. Since its inception, this facility has been steadily adopted by private vehicle owners across the country. NHAI said that more than 56 lakh customers have already opted for the annual pass. The pass is designed for eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag and can be used at approximately 1,150 toll plazas on national highways and national expressways. This allows users to pay once instead of recharging their FASTag repeatedly. The pass is valid for one year or 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first.

Motorists can purchase FASTag annual pass through the Raj Murg Yatra app or online through NHAI’s official website. After payment is completed, the pass is activated on the current FASTag attached to the vehicle, usually within two hours.FASTag itself is an RFID-based tag that enables automated toll payments by deducting fees directly from the user’s linked prepaid wallet or bank account. The system has been widely adopted across India’s highway network to reduce congestion at toll plazas and enable faster, contactless toll collection.
