New Delhi: The announcement of the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka drew praise on Thursday, with Lucknow Supergiants owner Sanjiv Goenka paying tribute to teenage sensations Vibhu Suryavanshi and Ayush Baduni.gave The BCCI has named Tilak Verma as the captain of the 15-member squad for the ODI tri-series in June. India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A are included. These matches will be played in Dambulla, followed by two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A in Galle.

Soon after the squad was announced, Goenka took to social media to celebrate the selection of Suryavanshi and Baduni, highlighting the rise of the teenager.“Vibhu Suryavanshi’s selection for the India A squad should be celebrated for a number of reasons, not the least of which is how far the youngster has come in such a short space of time. From his IPL debut last year to scoring 175 in the U-19 World Cup final and being adjudged Man of the Tournament, Malik has been watching in awe,” Goenka wrote.He added: “In just one year, he has shown incredible talent, fearlessness and hunger to keep improving. Nice to see Ayush Baduni in the team too. Congratulations to both. Make India proud.”Young stars were rewarded.At just 15 years of age, Suryavanshi has become one of the brightest young names in the domestic circuit since joining the IPL with Rajasthan Royals. His aggressive batting and performance at the youth level made him one of the standout picks in the squad.Baduni, meanwhile, has been a consistent performer for Lucknow Supergiants and gets another chance to push for senior national selection.The squad also includes Priyansh Arya, Prabhasmaran Singh and Anshul Kamboj, underscoring the selectors’ emphasis on developing the next generation ahead of the busy international cycle.
