Archana Puran SinghAyushmaan Sethi’s young son recently revealed that he was a victim of an online scam of Rs 84,000. Earlier in his vlog he revealed this and also said that he got the money back. However, she has now spoken at length about the incident and how it happened in her brother Aaryamann Sethi’s latest YouTube vlog, which also led Archana to share her experience of being duped online during a family trip to Dubai.Talking about the scam, Ayushmaan said, “I was scammed, which became big news because the Cyber Crime branch wants to do an awareness campaign in which an interview will be mine. They cheated me last year.”Aaryamann, however, demurred and argued that technically he “did not receive any fraud” since the money was returned. Ayushmaan then clarified that the refund came from his credit card company and not the fraudsters, who were never caught. Explaining what happened, Aaryamann said, “Rs 84K was taken from his credit card on PlayStation Network. PlayStation Network was hacked.” Ayushmaan added, “I reported the fraud to the credit card company and they refunded my money.”In the same interview, Archana recalled how she too lost Rs 30,000 in an online scam while traveling in Dubai last year. The family booked tickets online for a skydiving experience, only to find upon arrival that there was no reservation in their name. They later realized that they had unknowingly booked through a fake website. Recalling what happened in an earlier vlog, Archana said, “We were cheated because the website was not real. Have we been cheated in Dubai?’ Reacting to the situation, her husband Parmeet Sethi he sarcastically stated, “Enjoy who fooled us.”
