The Roast of Kevin Hart recently went viral for some of its wildest jokes, though not all of the scripted punchlines made it into the final broadcast. In a recent interview, one of the show’s writers talked about the content that was ultimately cut, including a joke aimed at first lady Melania Trump.
‘Roasted Kevin Hart ‘ the writer reveals Melania Trump joke that was cut
According to Variety, one of the first toasters, Tony Hinchcliffe, was supposed to be the subject of a prank involving Melania Trump. After all, the line that was cut from the show read: “Tony is like Melania: the only thing that matters about him is that he opened up for Trump once.”The jab was referring to Hinchcliffe’s controversial remarks about Puerto Rico at Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally. Writer Madison Sinclair later shared details about the roast, though it’s still unclear why the joke was cut from the final version. While that joke didn’t make the air, Pete Davidson’s sharp dig comparing the comedian to Charlie Kirk remained. Roasting Tony, Davidson said, “Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, because he’s been on camera forever letting a guy down his throat.”
About Melania Trump
Recently, after Jimmy Kimmel joked that Melania looked like an “expectant widow,” the Trump administration quickly condemned the remark as an attempt to spread hate. The comment also came days before the shooting related to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
