UPSSSC ASO, ARO Recruitment 2026: Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has extended the last date of registration for Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) and Assistant Research Officer (ARO) Recruitment 2026 examination. With the extension, the commission has increased the total number of vacancies to 1,565 from the previously notified posts.As per the revised notification, candidates can now submit their online applications till 18 May 2026. Last date for payment of fee and correction in application form is 25 May 2026. The recruitment drive is being conducted for the appointments in various departments of Uttar Pradesh Government.
Vacancies increased in all departments.
The revised advertisement issued by the commission states that additional posts have been added under several departments. Most of the vacancies are going on in the Economics and Statistics Division under the Planning Department. Several new posts have also been added in departments like Industries and Enterprise Promotion, Agriculture, Medical and Health Services, Higher Education, Animal Husbandry, and Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.After inclusion of the additional posts mentioned in the revised notification, the total number of posts now stands at 1,565. The updated notice also provides details of separate horizontal reservation for persons with disabilities and other reserved categories.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the posts should have Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Commerce, Economics or Statistics from a recognized University. The Commission has also clarified that the applicants should have knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script.Also, applicants must have cleared the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2024 to be eligible for the recruitment process. Candidates with Diploma in Computer Science or recognized Computer Qualification may also be preferred.
Age limit and selection process
According to the notification, candidates should be at least 21 years of age and should not exceed 40 years of age as on July 1, 2024. Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved category candidates as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules.The selection process will include a written test followed by document verification. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates and the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification.Important Dates
