Mumbai Police has lodged an FIR against Celina Jaitly’s husband for alleged physical harm and cruelty

The Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against him Bollywood actress Celina JaitleyPeter Haag’s husband, after the actress filed a complaint, alleging cruelty, physical harm, criminal intimidation and persistent harassment against him.Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against Austrian national Peter Haag under Sections 85, 115(2), 351(2) and 352 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 in connection with serious allegations of cruelty, physical harm, criminal intimidation and persistent harassment by his Celina Jazartar.The FIR was registered at the Versova police station on Friday.This initiates criminal proceedings against Haag, in addition to ongoing proceedings under the Domestic Violence Against Women Act 2005.Due to his continued non-cooperation with the investigation, the Mumbai Police has escalated the issue by issuing a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him, indicating the seriousness of the allegations and the ongoing probe.Last year, actress Celina Jaitly filed a domestic violence case against her husband before the First Class Judicial Magistrate in the Andheri court in Mumbai.According to court documents, Celina has filed the case under Section 23 of the Domestic Violence Against Women Act of 2025, which is temporary and ex parte. He has requested 50 million euros in compensation and other sums of money instead of loss of income and property.The case has been verified and a notice has been sent to Austrian resident Peter Haag by December 12, 2025.Claiming that her husband “forbade her to work under various pretexts and robbed her of her financial independence and dignity”, Celina, in the petition, accused Peter Haag of pressuring her to transfer the ownership of her Mumbai residence to her name while she was suffering from severe depression following the death of her newborn child and both parents within months of each other.She also alleged that her husband subjected her to “severe emotional, physical, sexual, verbal and financial abuse”, forcing her to leave their home in Austria and return to India without her children.Since then, the actor has been seeking legal redress for the illegal Mumbai transfer; however, they have blocked all access to her children, she said in the petition.In her petition, Celina Jaitly has sought protection from her husband under the Anti-Domestic Violence Against Women Act.It has also sought compensation of 50 million Euros, “For the loss of profits/visibility suffered by the complainant, due to the ill-treatment by the defendant, followed by removal of assets, diversion of funds and other monetary orders for loss of maintenance.”Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag got married on September 18, 2010, at the actor’s residence in Mumbai, according to Hindu rituals, in the presence of her close friends and family.On September 22, their marriage was registered under Austrian civil law. They have three children, Viraaj, Winston and Arthur.
