Ektaa R Kapoor's company denies claims of non-payment after vendors of Akshay Kumar's 'Bhooth Bangla' allege pending dues of Rs 48 lakh

After several vendors associated with ‘Bhooth Bangla’ were accused of non-payment of pending payments despite the film’s success, Balaji Telefilms released an official statement strongly rejecting the allegations. The production house said that all financial commitments related to the film had already been fulfilled.Addressing the controversy, the company stated, “Referring to recent media reports and social media posts about allegations of unpaid dues by Balaji Telefilms Limited for the film Bhooth Bangla, the company clarifies that it has fulfilled all contractual payment obligations for the film and there are no unpaid contractual dues or unpaid service dues to the vendors for this film.”Reiterating its position, the statement added, “Balaji Telefilms Limited as a leading media organization holds all its partners, vendors and creative team in high regard and duly fulfills all its contractual obligations and maintains high standards of corporate governance.”The clarification followed a mid-day report in which several dealers said large payments were still being paid. According to the report, one vendor alleged that around Rs 30 lakh remained unpaid, while another dues of nearly Rs 18 lakh were yet to be settled.The report also noted that delayed payment cycles are becoming more common in the film industry. He previously complained that the rule of compensating invoices within 90 days is not consistently followed.Meanwhile, Bhooth Bangla continues to enjoy a strong theatrical run. Released on April 16, the film has surpassed 220 million euros at the worldwide box office, and allegations of unpaid royalties have become even more controversial.Notably, this is not the first time under the film title Akshay Kumar caught in a dispute over pending payments. Earlier, the team members working at Bade Miyan Chote Miyan reportedly filed similar complaints. At that time, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff they reportedly personally intervened to ensure that the outstanding dues were cleared.
