According to the report, the Jordan Rawlins-penned film follows a woman played by Chopra who wakes up in the middle of the high desert with no memory of how she got there from civilization, only to find that her only chance for survival is to rely on a charming stranger (Bloom) who may not be who she says she is.

Speaking about the casting, director Smukler said on the set, “I was looking for a couple who could be together effortlessly with attraction and mistrust. Priyanka and Orlando have this uncanny ability to convince both at the same time. Chopra, who premiered season 2 of ‘Citadel’ on Wednesday, will also be seen in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’. The actress will play the female lead in the Mahesh Babu starrer. The film, which is currently in production, has a few more weeks to wrap up the shoot. According to reports, the team currently shooting in India will soon head to Antarctica to shoot their next schedule on the Ross Ice Shelf, making them one of the first teams to shoot on location.‘Varansi’ will release in theaters on April 7, 2027.
