To qualify, students must secure a minimum of 33% in aggregate, subject wise with 23 out of 70 marks and 33 out of 100 marks, failing which they will be declared a fail. Those who are not satisfied with their performance have the option to appear for improvement tests which will be conducted for the theory papers while the practical marks will remain unchanged. Results can be downloaded by visiting the official website. JAC also follows a systematic grading system ranging from D for 80% and above to D for below 33%, while last year’s data showed strong performance in streams with 79.26% in Science, 91.2% in Commerce, and 95.62% in Arts. Check how girls and boys have fared in different streams.Science streamIn the JAC Class 12 Science Examination 2026, boys and girls performed almost equally, with a very slight edge over boys. A total of 54,319 boys appeared for the examination out of which 45,101 passed with a pass percentage of 83.02%. On the other hand, 35,849 girls appeared in the examination and 29,670 of them passed, which is a pass ratio of 82.76%. Although more boys appeared and passed in absolute numbers, their number of failures was also higher. Overall, the difference in performance between boys and girls is minimal, indicating that both performed at about the same level, slightly ahead of boys.Trade chainGirls have performed better than boys in overall results in Class 12th Examination Commerce stream. Among boys, a total of 12,067 students registered, and 11,970 appeared in the examination. Out of them, 10,964 were passed with a percentage of 91.59%.On the other hand, 9,161 girls took admission and 9,108 appeared in the examination. A total of 8,717 girls cleared the exam, registering a high pass rate of 95.70%. While 988 boys and 382 girls did not pass, the overall performance shows that girls have outscored boys in the pass percentage in the commerce stream this year by a clear margin.Series of ArtsThe Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi, Class 12 Arts results 2026 show that girls have outperformed boys overall. Out of 1,25,991 girls who appeared for the exam, 1,21,814 passed, with a pass percentage of 96.68%. On the other hand, 85,104 boys appeared for the examination and 81,148 passed, which was 95.35%.In East Singhbhum, girls secured 98.17 per cent marks, higher than boys who scored 95.96 per cent. In West Singhbhum, boys fared slightly better with 98.41 percent while girls scored 98.06 percent. In Saraikela Kharsavan, girls again fared better with 97.77 per cent, compared to boys’ 95.96 per cent. Overall, the results show that girls have performed slightly better than boys in most districts.
