Actor-director Riteish Deshmukh released in theaters on May 1 has responded to a positive response from director Raja Shivaji.Talking about the reception, Riteish said that the film has struck a chord with the audience as families have come together to watch the historical drama. When a story is shown on a big screen, children understand that there is much more to it than what is in the textbooks. To know all this, it is important to watch this film,” he added.

Strong window opening

Raja Shivaji has opened strongly at the box office, collecting Rs 23.90 crore in its first two days. According to trade, the film had the biggest opening for a Marathi film, earning 12.40 crores on Friday and 11.50 crores on Saturday. The film has collected a total of 52 crores in six days of its release. The Marathi version is leading the show, while Hindi is expected to grow further through word of mouth. The historical epic features an ensemble cast of Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree and Genelia Deshmukh in key roles along with Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi and Amole Gupte.
