After the alleged breach Vijay Varma in early 2025, Tamannaah Bhatia shared a mature view of love, defining it as unconditional, “one-sided” and an “inside job” rather than a transactional relationship. He expressed his desire to be a better life partner and find joy in companionship, stating that he is working on himself. In a one-year interview with Luke Coutinho, Tamannaah drew a sharp distinction between love and relationships, saying that most people misunderstand the essence of both.“I think people confuse what love is and what a relationship is,” she shared, adding that the moment expectations are introduced, love runs the risk of becoming “transactional.”“The moment you have expectations and you want people to do what you want them to do, that’s just business … just transactional,” he said.
“Love must be unconditional”
Tamannaah emphasized that love, in its purest form, cannot be conditional. According to him, it is an emotion that arises within a person, rather than something dependent on the actions of another person.“Love is an inside job. It’s the way you feel about someone,” he explains, adding that two people can love each other individually, but that doesn’t mean the relationship itself defines love.
Letting people evolve
One of the most striking takeaways from the interview was his belief that love should allow for freedom and growth.“If I have to love someone, I have to set them free. You don’t love by projecting your ideas onto that person,” he said. She also recognized that people are constantly evolving, and loving someone means embracing all versions of them.“You’re going to have to love the versions that come out,” he added.
‘You can love more than once’
Breaking the conventional cinematic idea of ’one true love’, Tamannaah expressed that love is not limited to a single experience.“Love is not something that happens just once… it can happen as many times as you decide,” he said, adding that emotion is created from within, not by external forces.
