Babur Azam During the PSL match between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars, he was seen having a heated argument with the umpire after repeated ball changes at the beginning of the innings. The first came on the 11th ball, when Mohammad Basit bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to Mohammad Naeem, who cleared his front leg and swept it to square leg for a boundary. The ball went past the ropes and could not be retrieved, forcing the fourth umpire to bring in a substitute.Just five balls later, on the 16th ball, Khurram Shahzad bowled another short of length which Naeem dispatched for a six over deep midwicket. Again, the ball strayed out of bounds, allowing another substitution. After these back-to-back incidents, Babar appeared visibly frustrated and was seen in a heated exchange with the umpire, questioning the need for another ball change so early in the match. The unusual sequence of events, two balls lost in the first three overs, created confusion and clearly did not sit well with the Peshawar Zalmi captain. In the 38th match of Pakistan Super League 2026, Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by six wickets at Gaddafi Stadium. Zalmi posted an impressive 199/4, thanks to half-centuries from Michael Bracewell and Babar Azam. In reply, Lahore chased down the target in 19.3 overs led by Fakhar Zaman’s crucial innings with strong support from the middle order. Nearly 400 runs were scored in the high-scoring contest, but Lahore held their nerve in the final overs to seal a crucial win and keep their playoff hopes alive.
