Vibhu Suryavanshi gave Rajasthan Royals a big scare during their IPL 2026 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad after limping off the field shortly after his record-breaking century. RR batting coach provides update on his injury. The 15-year-old looked injured while fielding early in the second innings. Deployed at cover, Suryavanshi ran to chase down a lofted shot from Ishan Kishan but was suddenly pulled up, clutching his right thigh. Visibly in pain, he struggled to move and had to be helped off the field by the team physio, raising immediate concerns of a hamstring injury.Initial visuals suggested a possible hamstring pull, but subsequent cues pointed to severe pain. After spending a lot of time at the crease in tough conditions, the physical strain, combined with the intense Jaipur heat, seemed to take its toll on the young batsman. Before the injury scare, Suryavanshi played a breathtaking innings, scoring 103 runs off just 37 balls, including 12 sixes and five fours at an astonishing strike rate of 278.38, one of the most explosive innings of IPL 2026.Providing an update, RR batting coach Vikram Rathore downplayed the severity of the issue:“He was feeling something on his hamstring, but he looks fine now. He’s been treated and he’s on the mend. We’ll know more in a day or two, but it doesn’t look anything serious,” confirmed Vikram.Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down a mammoth 229-run chase to beat Rajasthan Royals by five wickets, with a devastating 132-run partnership between Abhishek Sharma (57 off 29 balls) and Ishan Kishan (74 off 31 balls). Both batsmen reached their half-centuries in just 24 balls, making a mockery of the standing target despite a few falling chances at the start of the innings.Even after both were dismissed, the partnership of Henrik Klaasen (29) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (36*) ensured that SRH completed the chase with nine balls to spare.Earlier, 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the show with an impressive 37-ball 103, supported by Dhruv Jural (51). However, his dismissal halted RR’s momentum, and their total of 228/6 proved insufficient on a batting-friendly surface.
