  • The man behind ‘The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender’ ATTACKS; A 26-year-old man who faces up to 7 years in prison and a $50,000 fine has been arrested for allegedly leaking parts of the animated film ‘The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender’. According to a police statement issued on April 24, authorities received a report on April 16 about clips from an unreleased film circulating on social media platforms. The suspect was identified and apprehended within a day of the complaint, the Straits Times reported. Investigators leading the leak case say the man gained unauthorized remote access to a media server from which he downloaded the unreleased film and later uploaded parts of the film to social media. According to the report, law enforcement officials confirmed that several electronic devices were seized during the arrest, and that a copy of the unreleased film was recovered from the device. The suspect is currently being investigated. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison, a fine of up to US$50,000, or both. Authorities have not released further details and the investigation is ongoing. As reported earlier this month, parts of the film were leaked online a month before its premiere on Paramount+. An anonymous X account said a Nickelodeon employee emailed him the entire movie. According to reports, the pirated version of the film was a high-quality file and not the versions shot with low-quality cameras. Paramount has launched an investigation into the incident. As part of its ongoing probe, the company ruled out the possibility that the leak was caused by a vulnerability in its systems, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter. Clips of the film shared on social media platforms were removed through copyright removal process. |
