After reporting on the famous singer Arijit Singh the Bollywood superstar who announced his retirement from playback singing earlier this year Aamir Khan He visited her at her home in Murshidabad and asked her not to turn away from music.Speaking of visiting, Aamir He said it was an “amazing experience of a lifetime” and “I was very happy after meeting him”.
“We were surprised when we heard about the retirement”
Aamir told Radio Nasha, “We were surprised, wondering if he would sing for us now,” referring to the buzz surrounding Arijit’s retreats.He added that it was his idea to travel to Arijit’s house with composer Ram Sampath for shooting sessions for Ek Din, Aamir’s co-produced film starring his son Junaid Khan.As Aamir recalled, “I called Arijit to ask if we should come, and he said he would keep his promise to us.”Describing their time together, Aamir said, “It was a magical four days.”He added, “Arijit is not only a great singer…he is also a storyteller. He tells stories through his songs.”
‘All legendary singers are storytellers’
Comparing him to the legends of Indian music, Aamir said, “Rafi saab, Kishore da, Asha ji, Lata ji and Sonu Nigam they all told stories through their singing. Arijit has the same quality.”He also said, “He is a truly gifted and talented singer and storyteller,” adding, “He is an amazing human being who immerses himself in his work.”Aamir also shared, “We had a great time while working too.”Aamir said, “I have met his father, wife and children. They are all very nice people, and so is his team.”
