Tanushree Dutta He has once again spoken about the alleged existence of a “Bollywood mob”, linking it to the deaths of actors. Sushant Singh Rajput and Jiah Khan.In an interview with Meri Saheli, the actress said that the two stars were “troubled” and questioned the circumstances that led to their deaths.
‘If there was no mafia, they would still be here’
Tanushree said the industry has an “unspoken” reality that is rarely discussed openly.“Bollywood mafia bhi hai. Bilkul hai. That’s why Jiah Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput are not with us today. If there was no mafia, these talented stars would still be here,” he said.He added: “One thing that’s not said is that they were worried. I don’t think they died by suicide. But even if we do, why does a person get to that point?”
“No normal person wakes up and takes such steps”
Questioning the idea of suicide, Tanushree said that people do not take such decisions without being pushed to an extreme mental state.“A normal person doesn’t wake up and decide to end their life. Especially someone who has seen success and built confidence. For someone to get to a stage where they can’t even talk about themselves, something serious has to happen,” he said.He added that suicide happens when a person feels that there is no way forward. “But the question is: Who brought them to this situation?” he asked.Tanushree pointed out that actors are aware of the uncertainty of the film industry and are mentally prepared for the ups and downs.“This is not a 9-to-5 job with stability. Artists know that sometimes things work, sometimes they don’t. That’s part of the industry,” he said.“Career setbacks are not enough for someone to take such a step. If it happens, there must be a concentrated effort to push that person in that direction,” he added.
“If you don’t follow them, you become a target”
Talking about the alleged functioning of these groups, Tanushree said that people who do not join often face the consequences.“These mafia-type people have huge egos. If you don’t follow their lead, you become their enemy. They target and harass people who want to work honestly and independently,” he said.He added that even talented and well-known actors can be sidelined. “Some powerful people can decide your fate. If you don’t follow them, you will become a target. They can destroy your career,” he said.Describing such people, Tanushree said, “They are irrational, almost like evil forces. There is no logic, only a tendency to control and worry others.’“If you don’t participate in their activities, you’re considered an outsider. No matter how talented you are, you can still be kicked out,” he added.
“There has to be some connection with reality”
While refusing to make direct allegations, Tanushree said the industry’s depictions in films and global revelations suggest deeper problems.“I can’t make a direct statement without evidence. But when movies show such realities, and things like the Epstein case come out on a global scale, there has to be some connection to reality,” he said.“You have to ask: How do such deaths happen? How does someone who has seen success suddenly give up?” he concluded.
