NEET UG 2026 Exam Rules: The National Testing Agency has issued a reminder to the candidates appearing for NEET UG 2026 as the preparation for the exam scheduled on May 3, 2026 in pen and paper mode is underway across India.The agency had earlier issued advance notification slips informing the applicants about their allotted exam cities on April 12 while the admit cards are expected to be issued to the registered candidates soon.Rules of Examinations and Test MeasuresCandidates will have to go through mandatory checking at entry points using sensitive metal detectors as part of the security arrangements mentioned in the official information bulletin.NTA has stressed the importance of following the set guidelines to avoid disqualification during any part of the examination.Dress code for candidatesCandidates are expected to dress appropriately by wearing loose and light clothes without long sleeves. Recommended footwear includes slippers and flat-heeled shoes. Wearing accessories like watches and bangles is prohibited.Those opting for traditional dress should report at least one hour before the final reporting time and complete the fracking formalities.Items are prohibited inside the examination centers.The agency has listed a number of items that are strictly prohibited on the exam premises, including any text material, stationery items such as calculators or writing pads, and electronic devices.Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones and health bands are not allowed along with personal items such as purses, handbags, belts and hats.Food items, water bottles, and metal objects are not permitted unless permission is obtained in advance for health reasons.Instructions regarding OMR Sheet and Identity ProofStudents should be careful while filling the OMR sheet and use only the pen provided at the examination centre.Valid original identity proof will be mandatory for admission, and candidates without it will not be allowed inside the venue.NTA has also made it clear that watches of any kind are not allowed and no electronic gadget should be carried in the examination hall.Candidates are required to reach their centers within the scheduled reporting time and follow all instructions issued by the invigilators during the examination.Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in denial of admission or further action under the agency’s prescribed examination regulations.The advisory was shared on X to address common candidate queries.
